Meet Kayla
Praised for her radiant tone and engaging stage presence, lyric/coloratura soprano, Kayla Kramer, is quickly establishing herself as a compelling young artist in the American operatic landscape. Based in Denver, Colorado, studyin with Kate Emerich, Kramer made her professional role debut this spring with Opera Colorado as, “Cousin” in Madama Butterfly.
She also appeared as “Gretel” in Indiana University Opera Theater’s production of Hänsel und Gretel (2022). Her previous operatic credits include “Yvette” in La Rondine with Indiana University Opera Theater; “Susanna” in
Le Nozze di Figaro and “Miss Silverpeal” in The Impresario with Miami University Opera Theater.
Additional ensemble experience includes engagements with Opera Colorado, Bravo! Vail and Cincinnati Opera. She was also a summer participant at the American Institute of Musical Studies, where she performed in lieder and operetta concerts and appeared in a masterclass with renowned soprano, Barbara Bonney. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Ms. Kramer earned her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Miami University in 2020. She completed her Master of Music degree at Indiana University in 2023, where she studied under distinguished soprano, Carol Vaness
